Purpose of the Job:
To oversee and provide vision for Cullman Campus student ministries in light of the vision of the Lead Pastor and the Cullman Campus Pastor.
Student Ministry Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Teams
Oversee student ministry teams at CC, while coordinating with Global Student Pastor to
develop the weekly/monthly/annual schedule of events and order of services.
Lead, develop and disciple a CC Student Ministry Lead Team who assist with the
operation and leadership of Daystar Students CC.
Plan, Execute, and Direct Dream Team Hangout opportunities for volunteers twice a year.
Coordinate with Global Student Pastor for overall team training twice a year.
Build teams and train adult and student leaders in the overall Cullman Campus student
ministry through a measurable recruiting/training/assimilation process and discipleship
process.
Ensure adequate volunteer support and adult to student ratios.
Build relationships with Cullman campus student ministry volunteers, providing pastoral
oversight and direct supervision to the team.
Train adult and student leaders on Planning Center weekly procedures.
Services
Create a service environment within all services that connects students to Next Steps and
dream team, teaches them to worship, pray, and build healthy community, and challenges
them to grow as leaders within the church.
Collaborate with the Worship and Production teams in creating the atmosphere for the
student services, pursuing a student-led, adult-facilitated ministry experience each week.
Ensure high quality delivery and execution of weekly message content and small group
curriculum.
Events
For campus specific events:
Develop, plan, and coordinate all student ministry special events, trips, activities, and retreats from conception to realization.
Lead efforts and build teams to recruit, train and execute special events.
For global specific events such as UNITE, Student Camp, Conference, etc:
Partner with Global Student Pastor and other Campus Student Pastors to develop, plan, and coordinate all student ministry special events, trips, activities, and retreats from conception to realization.
Lead efforts and build teams to recruit, train and execute special events from a Cullman Campus perspective.
Community
Visit 1-2 schools a week, including, but not limited to: lunches, outreaches, sports events,
school events, speaking engagements, etc.
Be active in forming and establishing relationships inside the school systems of Cullman
County, including, but not limited to Cullman County Schools, Cullman City Schools, and Cullman Christian School
Administration & Student Pastoral
Ensure that the systems and structures in place for Daystar Students are used to record
Student Ministry statistics, volunteer accountability, and student weekly follow-up.
Mentor students and provide biblical coaching and spiritual direction that aligns with the
church mission.
Communicate with church leadership, staff, parents and congregation in a timely manner
utilizing available resources.
Provide vision, oversight and management for the Daystar Students Campus Coordinator
Ensure all supplies are prepared and ready for Daystar Student weekly, monthly, and
special events.
○ Inventory, organize, and oversee all stored student ministry supplies at the Cullman Campus
○ Manage the CC Student Ministry budget and annual calendarAssist Global Student Pastor in providing vision, oversight, and management for the Daystar College practicum students who choose to serve within the Student Ministry for their Practicum hours.
Operate in a sense of unity and intentional partnership with Daystar Kids and Daystar Small Groups.
Partner with production and worship to assure weekly organization of main auditorium, backstage and storage areas (cleanliness, areas organized, and auditorium chairs in order), along with any other ministries and areas utilized by Daystar Students.
Stay up to date on all student ministry/next gen trends, songs, & technology.
3. Other Cullman Campus Responsibilities
Help in the leadership and execution of Next Steps, First Impressions and Events team at Cullman Campus.
Assist with CC pastoral care each week alongside the on-call staff member and campus pastor.
Be a pastoral presence on campus at CC during the work week (Monday—Thursday). As a staff pastor, must have at least 2 hours a week available on calendar and dedicated to on-campus counseling availability.
Lead a small group every semester and foster small groups within Students & CC.
Assist in properly staffing and equipping any events hosted by Daystar Church CC with events team and first impressions as needed.
Maintain personal, spiritual and professional growth in discipleship through podcasts, conferences, book reading & scripture.
Attend CC Lead Team Meetings/Core Team Meetings.
Perform other ministry tasks as assigned by the Cullman Campus Pastor.
4. Goals
Wednesday night attendance equivalent of 10% of weekend attendance
1 small group for every 8-10 students.
Consistent visible student ministry presence on Sundays at CC (at least 2 times per month).
Build healthy teams made up of student leaders with adult oversight.
Succeed at what is asked, create a culture to sustain it, and have a healthy hunger for more.
Disciple leaders to expand your influence in the community.
Disciple leaders to help develop new small group leaders.
